Drivers who don't pay their parking tickets will soon be trading the tow pound for the parking boot.

The Department of Finance says the wheel clamps will be citywide by the end of the summer.

Instead of getting towed, vehicles of drivers who owe more than $350 in unpaid parking fees will get the device.

Owners will be able to call a 24-hour hotline to pay their bill and get a code to unlock the boot.

The new program aims to reduce the amount of time spent tracking down towed cars.
