The city Department of Finance says vehicles of drivers who owe more than $350 in unpaid parking fees will get the boot by the end of the summer.

The wheel clamps are being used in place of towing the vehicles.

Owners will be able to call a 24-hour hotline to pay their bill and get a code to take unlock the boot.

The new program aims to reduce the amount of time spent tracking down towed cars.
