A software upgrade for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority means some Long Island Rail Road riders will have to pay with cash for part of Saturday.

Credit and debit card transactions will not be available between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Cash ticket purchases can be made at stations or on trains, where you won't face the typical service charge.

Some stations on the Port Washington, Far Rockaway, Hempstead, Long Beach and West Hempstead branches won't be able to take credit or debit cards until early Sunday morning.

A full list of those stations can be found here.
