The events leading up to the Super Bowl continued Thursday with a star-studded, sports-themed Super Bash at the Time Warner Cable Studios.

CC Sabathia attended the event, even though he won't be attending the big game.

The Yankee pitcher said he's excited for the upcoming baseball season, but said that playing without Alex Rodriguez will be tough, and replacing Mariano Rivera will be impossible.

Still, Sabathia said that adding Masahiro Tanaka to the bullpen is a good start.

"I'm excited. He's a big signing for us," Sabathia said. "Anybody who goes 24-0 with an under 2 ERA is a great player and is a great addition to our team, so I'm excited to have him."

The event was hosted by Time Warner Cable in collaboration with FOX Sports 1.

Time Warner Cable is the parent company of NY1.
