The NYPD is stepping up security in Times Square, also known as "Super Bowl Boulevard,” for the days before the big game.
Extra surveillance cameras in place for the festivities. Also hundreds of uniformed and plain clothed officers have been assigned to the location.
"There will be a robust counter-terrorism overlay out in the street with canine dogs and our cameras and our sensors that we have in place,” said NYPD’s Chief James Waters.
In New Jersey, up to 700 state troopers will patrol in and around the MetLife stadium for the big day.
The NFL also promised an additional 3,000 private security officers for the event, and FBI analysts are watching for any possible terror threats.
