Just before Monday morning's E3 show floor opening, Nintendo invited members of the media to a private section of the Los Angeles Convention Center for a display of their upcoming games lineup.
Far removed from the company's traditional press conference, which is usually on par with the Microsoft and Sony showcases, the event gave attendees hands-on time with new versions of Nintendo's popular franchises.
The unusual press format was meant to generate new interest in the Wii U console, which has experienced poor sales since it's release last November.
