Hurricane Sandy victims will have an extra month to register for the city's "Build it Back" initiative.
Eligible residents now have until October 31 to participate in the federally funded program.
Build it Back uses $648 million in aid to help people whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the storm.
Qualified applicants could receive help with repairs, including home elevation, rebuilding homes from scratch, reimbursement for some out-of-pocket repair expenses or assistance with selling their properties.
Even if you've received assistance from FEMA or payouts from private insurers, you may still be eligible.
So far, more than 21,000 New Yorkers have signed up.
Those eligible can register online at nyc.gov or by calling 311.
