Instead of battling crime and fires, the police and fire departments squared off against each other Friday night, all for a good cause.

The annual charity baseball game was played at MCU Park in Coney Island.

Proceeds from the event are going to Hurricane Sandy charities.

"We all worked all through Sandy. We've seen the devastation that it caused and we're just trying to help each other out as fellow officers, and I'm here to support them," said one participant.

"Growing up in Rockaway, I think the money going towards the Sandy victims is going to be a tremendous help to the families of these coastal towns, especially all around the New York City area," said another.
