Former members of the teachers union who quit before a new contract was reached reportedly will sue for retroactive pay.
According to the Daily News, a class action lawsuit is being filed against the United Federation of Teachers today.
The suit covers teachers and other Education Department employees who quit after October 31st, 2009 but before they were eligible to retire.
The lawyer bringing the suit tells the News he will argue the union didn't represent all its members when it excluded workers who resigned.
About $3 billion in retro pay is included as part of the new contract.
