The city's largest charter school network wants to expand.

Success Academy has applied with the state to open 14 more schools across the city over the next two years.

CEO Eva Moskowitz says her network is just responding to community demands.

In 2014, more than 14,000 students applied for 3,000 available Success Academy seats in the city.

The network hopes to open four additional schools in the Bronx, Manhattan and Queens next year, and 10 more in those boroughs and Brooklyn in 2016.

The move requires state approval.

The de Blasio administration has had a difficult relationship with charter schools. The mayor's office says their priority is investing in public schools.

If approved, the city is obligated under a new state law to provide buildings or pay the rent for all new charters. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
