The chemistry teacher behind a botched experiment that led to a fire at an elite Manhattan high school has been reassigned.

The Department of Education says that Anna Poole will no longer work at the Beacon School, pending the conclusion of its investigation.

The class was using different chemical compounds to produce colored flames when the explosion happened.

Two 16-year-old students suffered burns, but Poole was not hurt.
