The state has announced new funding for low-income high schoolers who are thinking about college.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says that $500,000 is now available through the College Access Challenge Grant.

He says that that money will make it possible for students who couldn't otherwise afford a college visit to see campuses first-hand.

He says that a visit can help disadvantaged students believe higher education is within their reach.
