A school on Manhattan's Upper East Side was briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday after a student was found with a loaded BB gun.
The Department of Education says it happened at the Life Sciences Secondary School on East 96th Street.
The lockdown was put in place for a little more than an hour.
"It was during our fifth period lunch," said one student. "All of a sudden, there was supposedly a hard lockdown, which means that we were supposed to hide and duck because supposedly there was a gun in the building."
"Well, he got in to the school. That's number one," said one parent. "So there should be some sort of security in order to not allow people like that in. Or they should turn him over to me so I could take care of him."
A student is now being questioned in connection to the incident.
