With just days to go until the primary, Democratic mayoral candidate Bill Thompson was out in full force Thursday to push his education agenda.
He joined teachers in Harlem to discuss his First Year Free Plan.
The goal is to give city students one-year of college free at CUNY schools.
"Unlike the pretend proposals of some of my opponents I'll pay for my education plans by using a portion of the revenue generated from the upcoming sale of taxi medallions. The sale of medallions is city controlled. In other words, I won't have to beg Albany to raise a tax we don't control to raise money we don't have," Thompson said.
According to Thompson's website, every student with a B average or better would be eligible for a year at a CUNY college, tuition free.
