The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York says it will refund registration deposits for high school students whose acceptance to specialized city high schools was delayed by Hurricane Sandy.
The hurricane forced the Department of Education to delay notifying students of their acceptance, and in some cases families registered their children at Catholic high schools while they awaited word.
The archdiocese says the refunds will only be available to students who can show that they have been admitted to one of the city's eight specialized high schools.
The deadline to apply for a refund is April 15.
