The jury in the Ronnell Wilson trial begun Tuesday to deliberate the fate of the man charged with killing two undercover Staten Island police detectives.

During closing arguments Monday, prosecutors said DNA evidence, call logs, and witness testimony all point to Wilson.

Wilson is facing federal charges in the March 2003 shooting, during a botched weapons buy and bust operation. Prosecutors say Detective James Nemorin begged for mercy after seeing his partner Detective Rodney Andrews shot to death.

They say Wilson then shot and killed Nemorin.

The defense has argued the government's main witnesses, the only eyewitness in the case, is not reliable.

Wilson's attorney says "reasonable doubt" is enough for the jury to acquit his client. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
