The New York City Police Department's Aviation Unit rescued an injured hiker over the weekend.

Police say they were called to help the Piermont Fire Department assist a woman who was stranded 200 feet in the air on a New Jersey cliff near the Hudson River.

The team positioned the helicopter about 50 feet above the victim and lowered an officer down for the rescue.

The officer helped the woman into a basket.

She was then hoisted into the helicopter and airlifted to Nyack Hospital with a broken ankle. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
