The Brooklyn District Attorney's office is set to ask a judge to exonerate three half-brothers who were convicted of murder with questionable evidence.
The evidence was produced by retired detective Louis Scarcella.
Prosecutors are investigating 57 convictions in which Scarcella was involved, including those of Alvena Jennette, Robert Hill and Darryl Austin.
If they are exonerated, Hill is the only one of the three who will actually be released from jail. Jennnette was already released on parole in 2007, and Austin died in prison 14 years ago.
The men's lawyer said Austin's mother will stand for him in court.
Scarcella has denied any wrongdoing.
