A march and rally was held in Brooklyn Saturday to draw attention to the unsolved murder of a local teen.
Chanel Petro-Nixon, 16, was last seen on Father's Day 2006 in Brooklyn when she left her parents' home to fill out a job application at a local restaurant.
Her body was later found in a garbage bag on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights.
During an appearance on NY1's "Inside City Hall," Nixon's parents pleaded for anyone with information to step forward.
"Somebody out there know who murdered Chanel. I believe that from the bottom of my heart either they are afraid to say something or they think it's not important to say something," said Chanel's mother, Lucita Petro-Nixon.
The march, which ran from Fulton Street to Kingston Avenue, was organized by the Brooklyn Anti-Violence Coalition.
