Four people are awaiting arraignment Wednesday on drug and weapons charges, after allegedly taking part in a large-scale operation in the Bronx.
An official with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives says the defendants identified as Harrison Brown, Allahvell Cutts, Malik Saunders and Rasheem Lee, will be arraigned at the United States Federal Courthouse in Lower Manhattan this afternoon.
A 17-count indictment was issued Wednesday against nine people, five of whom remain on the loose.
The indictment names Harrison Brown and Allahvell Cutts as the ring leaders of the cocaine operation.
The other defendants face a number of charges including conspiracy, possession, and distribution of a controlled substance in the area stretching from Fordham Heights to Morrisania.
Three other suspects were previously arrested and charged with gun possession in connection with the ring.
The investigation began two years ago with the NYPD Bronx Gang Unit investigating drug and weapon sales. The department called ATF, which made some undercover buys from the group, before bringing in the Drug Enforcement Administration to go after the operation.
