Former Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno wasted no time joining the private sector, four days after retiring from Albany.
The Republican has signed on to be chief Executive Officer at CMA Consulting Services in Albany County.
The longtime Rensselaer County businessman will take over the day-to-day operations of the information and technology systems company.
Bruno says it's a good fit for him, after he spent his time as majority leader steering high tech projects to the Capitol region.
"We have a lot of momentum here now, capped with the last announcement by IBM that they are going to invest a billion and a half in Upstate and grow another thousand jobs — so that's been my life," said Bruno.
The 79-year-old stepped down as majority leader earlier this summer.
His vacant seat leaves the fragile leadership with just a one vote advantage over the Democrats.
