Police made an arrest Wednesday in a series of subway purse snatchings.

Mark McIntosh, 25, was charged with grand larceny, robbery, and resisting arrest.

“I'm sorry for what I did. I apologize deeply,” said McIntosh as he was led away handcuffed by police near Union Square.

Investigators believe McIntosh is behind as many as six purse snatches -- the most recent happening Monday on the platform of a G train in Brooklyn. The rest of the robberies occurred in Manhattan.

In each case, police said the thief approached his victim, stole the purse and then escaped by running into the subway tunnels. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
