A Queens woman was ordered to be held without bail Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of her husband, a retired NYPD sergeant.
Barbara Sheehan, 46, did not enter a plea during her arraignment on Tuesday. She is charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
If convicted, Sheehan faces 25 years to life in prison.
Her husband, Raymond Sheehan, 49, was found shot to death inside the couple's Howard Beach home Monday afternoon.
Investigators say the gun used belonged to Mr. Sheehan.
Police are looking into whether an ongoing dispute led to the shooting. Neighbors say Mrs. Sheehan was recently seen in church with a broken nose.
Police say Raymond Sheehan was a police officer for 20 years -- most recently in the Crime Scene Unit. He retired in 2002.
