Eight businesses along the Coney Island boardwalk have been granted a reprieve, but the fate of Astroland still hangs in the balance.

Developer Thor Equities says the businesses will be around for the 2008 season, but it's still not clear what will happen to the fabled amusement park.

Thor Equities plans to eventually redevelop the entire site, as part of a multi-billion dollar re-development project.

Astroland closed for the season nearly two weeks ago. The sale has no effect on the Cyclone rollercoaster.
