NY1 has put a fresh face on the 11 o'clock news with the launch of its "News At Eleven" newscast.
"News At Eleven" made its debut on January 22, blending NY1's straighforward news delivery with a more traditional evening news format.
The new program airs seven days a week.
"New Yorkers are hungry for a newscast that won't scare you out of eating out or tie into the latest Sweep Month television movie," said NY1 Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Paulus. "'News at Eleven' will do what NY1 has always done. We will inform our viewers with relevant information that they need on a daily basis."
The newscast is hosted by veteran NY1 anchor Lewis Dodley and former CBS news correspondent Elizabeth Kaledin, an original member of the NY1 News team. Kaledin served as weekend anchor and reporter when the newschannel launched in 1992, before joining CBS two years later.
"I am thrilled at the opportunity to return to NY1 and sink my teeth into 'real' local news again," Kaledin said. "I have watched with great pride over the years as NY1 has built itself into an indispensable tool for anyone who really wants to know what's going on in New York, and I couldn't be happier about re-joining this dedicated group of journalists."
The introduction of "News at Eleven" means a revamping of NY1's primetime lineup. The replay of "Inside City Hall" can now be seen from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., and the "Fortune Business Report" is now a segment on "News at Eleven."
