Bikers On Their Way Upstate In Ground Zero Independence Ride

  • Text size: + -
Bikers were off to an early start for the "Second Annual Ground Zero Independence Ride."

The ride reunites construction workers and union members who worked side by side for 10-months during rescue and recovery operations at the site.

Nearly 3,000 motorcyclists left Battery Park City and are headed toward the Upstate town of Bethel. They're riding to benefit the World Trade Center Miracles Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps victims of the terror attacks.

“It's important to show our love for our flag and the love for our country and for those that have been the least fortunate in our nation, the ones that have been directly affected by the 9/11 tragedy,” said a biker. “So, we're here to show solidarity for all those people today."
