Mike Tyson was arrested early Saturday morning after a brawl outside a Brooklyn hotel.

Police said the 36-year-old former heavyweight champ fought with two men outside the Marriott Hotel on Adams Street at about 5:30 a.m.

Tyson was charged with third degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was issued a desk appearance ticket and is due back in court Tuesday, his 37th birthday.

The other men, Samuel Velez and Nester Alvarez, have pleaded not guilty to charges of menacing and harrassment.

Sources say Tyson threw the first punch but did not start the fight.

This is not the first time Tyson has been arrested. In 1991, he served three years in prison for raping an Indianapolis beauty pageant contestant.

In 1997, he bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear during a match. His boxing license was revoked and he was fined $$3 million. Last year, he threw a punch at Lennox Lewis' bodyguard during a pre-fight news conference. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
