A quality of life complaint made through the city's 311 hotline will now reportedly include a follow-up by police.

According to the Daily News, the New York City Police Department has ordered precinct commanders to track 311 complaints and have each precinct's special operations lieutenant contact every caller within one business day to ask if the problem was solved.

People who call about the same problem at least five times in four weeks will get a personal visit from one of the top two officers in the precinct.
