The New York City Police Department on Wednesday announced the results of its two-week crackdown on bicyclists.

During the 14-day bike safety initiative known as "Operation Safe Cycle," police handed out 4,300 summonses for moving violations and more than 3,200 tickets for parking violations.

Moving violations included failing to stop at red lights, going in the wrong direction and failing to yield to pedestrians.

Parking violations were handed out to vehicles blocking a bike lane.
