The man who pleaded guilty to shooting a police officer earlier this year has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Rashun Robinson, 29, was sentenced in Brooklyn Supreme Court for aggravated assault.

Robinson shot Officer James Li back in February when Li was just two months out of the police academy.

Police say Li and his partner were trying to bust Robinson for evading a bus fare when he fled, firing at the officers while he ran.

Li was hit in the leg.

He was released from the hospital in April and now walks with a cane, according to the Brooklyn district attorney.
