The head of the organization that oversees Manhattan's High Line park is stepping down.

Jenny Gersten, the executive director of Friends of the High Line, says she'll leave the position at the end of the month, which is when the park's new section, the High Line at the Rail Yards, is expected to be open.

The organization says the change in leadership won't interrupt any work.

Gersten sent a letter to staff, saying she enjoyed her time working on the elevated park but wants to return to working in the arts field. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
