The Office of Emergency Management issues a silver alert after a 74-year-old Brooklyn woman goes missing.

Police are asking for help finding Crucita "Lucy" Alvarado of Coney Island who suffers from dementia.

They say she went for a walk on August 12 at around 2 in the afternoon and didn't return.

Her family members say they hope by getting the word out to the public they can finally track her down.

"I would like everybody to take a good look at this and think if it was their mother, their grandmother and really make an effort to do something—anything," said Yvette Borelli, Alvarado's daughter-in-law.

"My mom—she's in need of medication. She has diabetes, high blood pressure, and also osteoporosis. Right now, my main concern is that, being that it's been two weeks, that she's getting the proper care, the proper nutrition," said Ingrid Alvarado, Crucita Alvarado's daughter.

Alvarado is 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 130 pounds.

She was last seen wearing an orange shirt, black sweat pants, a black and gray sweatshirt and black sneakers. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
