Police are looking for a man they say tried to rape a woman in the Elmhurst section of Queens just before 5 a.m. last Saturday morning.

Investigators say a 23-year-old woman was walking down Gleane Street near Elmhurst Avenue when a man came up and punched her from behind.

She fell down, and police say the suspect grabbed her.

Police say the victim resisted and the suspect ran off.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
