New test results show that City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito does not have cervical cancer.
Mark-Viverito tweeted that she doesn't have to undergo treatment and only has a small collection of abnormal cells.
Over the weekend, the speaker tweeted that she was diagnosed with high-risk human papillomavirus, which can lead to cervical cancer.
HPV is the country's most common sexually transmitted disease.
Mark-Viverito said she'll be back at the doctor within a year for more tests.
She urged all women to "make your appointments!"
