One Breezy Point resident is starting to see his Hurricane Sandy-ravaged home get fixed, thanks to a group of volunteers from Massachusetts.
Eighteen volunteers from the Jewish Disaster Response Corps have spent three days rebuilding first responder Michael Bresnahan's home.
The volunteers are partnered with the organization "New York Says Thank You," and their mission is to help first responders impacted by the storm.
"It's unbelievable that they're coming down from Massachusetts, just driving down to help someone they've never seen, never heard of, never met," Bresnahan said.
"It helps the homeowners who were affected, who aren't in their homes yet, who need help," said Aiden Arnold, a member of the Jewish Disaster Response Corp. "They know that people still care, people haven't forgotten about what happened in New York, what happened with the storm."
The two volunteer groups have been working together to rebuild more than 100 homes for first responders.
