Federal charges were brought Wednesday against 20 people accused of trafficking drugs in the Bronx.
Investigators say 19 of the people indicted are members of the River Park Towers Young Gunnerz, a gang based in that Morris Heights housing complex.
They say the last man charged supplied the gang members with the drugs they sold around the neighborhood.
Police say the area has been plagued by drugs and violence since at least 2010, but people NY1 spoke to said they didn't know much about the gang.
"My reaction is, it is what it is. No violence, no gang violence is OK. I don't condone that," said one person in the neighborhood.
"That's real terrible we have to live in an area like that, but to tell you the truth, I haven't really seen any arrests or gang activity in front of the towers, so I don't know," said another
Three of the men indicted were arrested last week in connection with the shooting death of a livery cab driver.
They face federal charges of carjacking resulting in a death in addition to the drug charges.
