With tensions over the police shooting death of Michael Brown still running high in Ferguson, Missouri, a private autopsy of Brown's body is shedding new light on his killing.

The preliminary autopsy performed by former New York City medical examiner Michael Baden found Brown was shot at least six times, including twice in the head.

It also found that one of the bullets entered the top of Brown's skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when he suffered a fatal injury.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder plans to have a federal medical examiner perform another autopsy on Brown.

Meanwhile, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has called on the National Guard to Ferguson after police used tear gas to clear protesters off the streets.

Nixon says the Guard will help restore peace and order.

Police said they moved in on demonstrators after a day that started peacefully turned violent.

President Barack Obama is expected to hold a meeting about the Brown shooting at the White House as part of a two-day break from his Martha's Vineyard vacation.

His return to Washington was planned before the standoff in Ferguson began. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
