Police are asking for the public's help trying to track down a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted bank robbery.

The NYPD says this woman entered the Chase branch near 19th Avenue and 86th Street in Bensonhurst just before 11 a.m. yesterday and demanded money.

According to police, after verbally demanding the money, she passed the teller a note telling them to fill an envelope with $100 bills or she will shoot.

Police say when the teller refused, the suspect ran away.

Investigators believe the woman is between 50 to 60 years old.

She is approximately 5 foot 9 and weighs around 160 pounds.

Police say she was last seen wearing a purple t-shirt, blue NY Yankees baseball cap and dark colored pants.
