Firefighters rescued two workers Monday who were stuck on scaffolding about 20 stories in the air near City Hall.

Fire officials said they brought the workers in through a window of a building on Broadway and Reade Street in Lower Manhattan.

The New York City Fire Department said the scaffolding was level and sturdy but the workers' equipment failed.

The workers are being evaluated for any injuries.
