Police are trying to find a man who they say tried to rape a woman in Brooklyn this past weekend and are hoping surveillance video of the attack will help lead to an arrest.
The video shows the suspect following a 30-year-old woman up the stairwell of a Crown Heights building around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Police say the suspect then tried to strike up a conversation before wrestling the woman to the ground and then trying to rape her.
The woman was able to fight back and the attacker ran away.
Police did not give out the building's exact address, but they say it happened in the area around President Street.
Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
