A member of the NYPD finds himself on the other side of the law.
The Bronx County District Attorney says on June 11, 27-year-old off-duty police officer Eugene Donnelly forced his way into an apartment at 549 East 234th Street in Wakefield.
According to court documents, he grabbed a woman, threw her to the floor and started beating her.
Court papers say Donnelly told the victim, "I'm a good guy, but sometimes I'm a bad guy."
Donnelly was arraigned on charges of assault, burglary, and criminal trespass.
It is not yet clear whether he knew the victim prior to the attack.
He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on August 20.
