While Eric Garner's family was in Harlem with the National Action Network Saturday, a group of demonstrators on Staten Island presented a list of demands to the NYPD.

Protesters marched to the 120th Precinct station house, calling for the firing and prosecution of the officers involved in Garner's death.

They also demanded systemic changes to curb the police department's use of excessive force.

"Homicide means murder and usually, in any other regular citizen, if you are charged with a homicide, you usually get arrested. You usually get processed. And we want to see that happen with these officers here," said organizer Salaam Ismail.

"We're not going to solve this with a simple arrest or prosecution of the involved officers. There's really big cultural changes that need to happen," said organizer Justin Stone-Diaz.

Demonstrators at the event say they will hold a rally in front of the 120th Precinct every Saturday until those changes are made. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
