A former member of Big Blue was given a giant honor.

The one time All-Pro Defensive Lineman Michael Strahan was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The single season leader in sacks with 141 and a half, Strahan was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2001.

The one memory that sticks out in his mind and in the minds of Giants fans, though, is winning the Super Bowl against an unbeaten New England Patriots team.

"It was improbable. It was improbable. We couldn't beat an 18 and 0 team. We barely made it to the playoffs. It was improbable, but it was not impossible. So, not only did we win; we stomped them out," Strahan said.

Strahan played 15 seasons with the Giants and made it to two Super Bowls.

The number of Giants fans in attendance last night put Canton in a New York state of mind.

We talked to some who made the trip and say Strahan's honor is well-deserved.

"He never gave up. He was always a high-motor player. He was always happy on the sidelines. He always led the team," one fan said.

"They won in '07, when he won. It was a great Super Bowl run. He's the heart and soul of the Giants," another said.

"He's a real leader and somebody we really admire. And, he's a great player—followed right after L.T.," another fan said.

Since retiring from the gridiron Strahan has developed a new fan base as a TV talk-show host. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
