The De Blasios are now calling Gracie Mansion home.
The city's first family moved there Sunday afternoon after returning from their vacation in Italy.
The mayor says most of his family's belongings were moved from their Park Slope home while the family was away.
Mayor Bill de Blasio says the move was bittersweet.
"Everyone knows my love for my neighborhood in Brooklyn, for my home in Brooklyn, so it was a little strange to come home to Gracie Mansion, but everyone there made us feel very welcome," de Blasio said.
De Blasio announced the move into the mansion from his home in Park Slope shortly after being elected.
He says he is considering renting out the Park Slope home while he lives in Manhattan.
Gracie Mansion was unoccupied since Mayor Rudolph Giuliani left office in 2001.
