The Bronx Dominican Day Parade celebrated its 25 year anniversary Sunday.

Colorful costumes and parade floats covered Grand Concourse from East Tremont Street to 167th.

Organizers say about nine thousand people marched in the parade this year.

Participants of all ages were excited to be out celebrating their Dominican heritage.

"It's something I cannot explain because it's something runs through your veins, it comes out in spirit and that is why we do this every year. Representing our culture. Every generation to represent that we are Dominican," said one parade participant.

Between people at the parade and those who saw it on television, organizers say that 1.5 million people were watching and celebrating. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
