Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an early morning fire at a Bronx supermarket.
Fire officials say the flames broke out in the Food Dynasty store on Hunts Point Avenue around 12:30 this morning.
It grew to five alarms at one point.
More than 200 firefighters worked through the night to get the fire under control.
Investigators say the fire appears to have broken out in the middle of the store's ceiling, making it especially hard to fight.
"Roof started to sag, we had to pull everyone out, it proved to be a very stubborn fire to put out," said Anthony Montera, Deputy Fire Chief.
"It was kind of scary, but we got out of there before it got bad or too smoky in the building," said Claudia Vaughan, evacuated resident.
No one was inside the store when the flames broke out.
The store is between two residential buildings.
A child was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross is helping residents who were forced from their homes.
