The guitar player from the opening sequence of "Chappelle's Show" gets to continue making music.

After losing his guitar and laptop on the 2 train in March, Cedric "Catfish" Turner reached out to NY1 as part of an appeal to help get it back.

Although the items were never returned, some good Samaritans gave him donations, and on Wednesday, he was able to purchase a new instrument that he had on layaway.

He says he's thrilled for the chance to continue doing work that he's passionate about.

"Because I'm excited by my new life. I know it's just a guitar, you know, but for me it's more than just a guitar. It's the rest of my life moving forward," Turner said.

Turner is preparing to launch a web series and some other theatrical works now that he has his new instrument.
