Yankees General Manager Joe Girardi helped the city get out the word about free summer meals for kids.
Girardi joined City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito at Jefferson Park in East Harlem Wednesday.
The program gives away free breakfast and lunch to kids under 18.
It's meant to supplement the meals kids would usually get at school.
Girardi helped hand out meals and talked to kids about the importance of nutrition.
"It's going to help you in your activities. It's going to give you energy to play baseball. How many of you know our shortstop? How many of you know what's happening this year? He's retiring. So how many of you know I need a new shortstop next year?" said Girardi.
"We're here to just let the community know that you can go to your libraries, you can go to your parks, you can go to your pools, you can get a meal. You're not going to be asked any questions," said Mark-Viverito.
Mark-Viverito says the the program is open at more than a thousand sites in all five boroughs.
