A new report shows a major drop in Con Edison's greenhouse gas emissions.
In the company's 2013 sustainability report, Con Ed says since 2005, they've reduced their carbon dioxide emissions by 43 percent.
This takes into account Con Ed services nationwide, but the report pinpoints a Manhattan-based project involving two steam-generating stations.
The company says the project was able to prevent 140,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
They also credit upgrades in its energy delivery services, converting more than 1,600 customers to natural gas heating and heavy recycling of non-hazardous material for their new data.
