Heavy afternoon downpours caused flooding around the city, and more rain is on the way, as a flood watch remains in effect until late tonight.
A viewer shot images of cars trying to make it through several inches of water on the Southbound side of Harlem River Drive between Dyckman and 158th Street.
She plunged in herself and got about halfway across the flooded area before her car stalls out.
Around the same time, all lanes of the Cross Bronx Expressway were closed in both directions, but have since been reopened.
On a busy road in Queens, drivers dealt with similar flooded zones.
The National Weather Service says drivers should never try to pass through flooded streets.
